Friends of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights Inc. (Friends), is a Canadian registered charity that was established in 2002 to act as the project proponent for the establishment of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights.
Friends undertook all of the initial planning, promotion, engagement and development activities for the Museum and are spearheading the Capital Campaign to raise the private sector contribution.
The Canadian Museum for Human Rights began as the dream of the late Dr. Israel Asper, O.C., O.M. and Mrs. Babs Asper, who envisaged a museum located in Winnipeg and dedicated to the exploration of Canadian and International human rights issues, from both an historical and a present-day perspective.
